Challenge
The existing SCAPA well control system on the client’s platform had become unreliable; repairs and maintenance were difficult due to spares and replacement components no longer being available. The client chose to replace the old control panels in order to improve operation and maintenance of the SCAPA system
Design and build wellhead control panels in accordance with client specification document
- Replacement of digital signals with analogue i.e. pressure transmitters provided instead of switches.
- Incorporation of flow meters to assist in fault detection
- Provide class 1 and 2 emergency shutdown facility in accordance with SIL assessment
- Design new packages to fit within existing footprints, removing requirement for structural modifications to platform, and with consideration for access when installing offshore
- Ensure reliability & maintainability using;
- Designed valves
- Twin ferrule compression fittings
- Alloy 825 tubing

- Detailed work pack submitted to client to confirm scope & deliverables for offshore survey
- Basis of Design generated using details gained from offshore survey, allowing customer to prepare specification for competitive tender
- Detailed Scope of Supply document generated for client’s use in competitive tender
