Our GWO Sea Survival course teaches personal survival techniques and methods of safe transfer between vessels and installations. This will equip participants with the knowledge, skills and confidence to appropriately respond in the event of an emergency and increase their safety through proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), emergency equipment and procedures.

Course Content:
- Dangers and symptoms related to hypothermia and drowning
- Advantages and limitations of the different Life Saving Appliances (LSA), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Personal Fall Protective Equipment (PFPE) commonly used offshore in the wind energy industry
- Safe transfer from vessel to dock, vessel to foundation and vessel to vessel
- Emergency and safety procedures on installations, vessels and WTG
- Search and Rescue (SAR) and Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS)
- Recovery and First Aid treatment of a “man over board�
- Evacuation from a mock WTG to the water by means of rescue device
- The delegates are able to demonstrate individual and collective survival techniques at sea
- Day one – personal sea survival techniques
- Day two - the course will be held in Lowestoft harbour ensuring the delegates are exposed to realistic transfer and man over board (MOB) drills fulfilling the requirements of the standard
Assessment of Course:
Candidates will be assessed through both observation of practical skills and a written assessment. Upon successful completion of the course a certificate will be provided to the candidate and will be valid for four years
Delegate Requirements:
Courses are of a strenuous nature; therefore a good level of fitness is advised. Delegates must be medically fit. Delegates attending this course must have a good understanding of verbal and written English language. We can accommodate any delegate with special needs providing we are advised at time of booking
